Tempe, Arizona
Reading tutor in Tempe
K-12 and ASU sit next to each other here. Kyrene and Tempe Union families often want help with the jump into Algebra 1. College students usually want a person for a specific course, not the campus center. Helpful for early readers who guess at words, and for older kids who can sound words out but cannot retell the story.

How it works
You pick a person and write them. Their profile says in-home or Zoom. A first session is usually an hour. Bring a recent quiz or the unit they are in. We do not assign the work. The tutor does.
Rates: Often $45 to $75 an hour in Tempe.
Questions
Will someone come to the house in Tempe?
Each listing says in-home, online, or both. You write the tutor and work out the driveway or the Zoom link with them.
How much does a session cost?
Around here, independent tutors often charge about $45 to $75 an hour. The profile shows that person's rate.
Is this a learning center?
No. These are independent tutors, often a teacher or a specialist. You meet with one person, not a drop-off classroom.
Can this help with Move on When Reading?
A reading tutor can work on phonics and fluency, which is what the law is about. They cannot override a district decision. Ask what they actually practice in a session.
